Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of both the chart and the table. You successfully identified the largest user group (full-time undergraduates) and the highest-rated service (helpfulness of staff). However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical, listing percentages rather than synthesizing the data. For example, you could have compared the high satisfaction levels of staff helpfulness with the lower satisfaction regarding book availability. Additionally, there are some inaccuracies in data reporting; for instance, you mention '10% and 19%' for wifi and book availability, which does not accurately reflect the provided table data. To improve, focus on grouping related information and highlighting significant trends or contrasts rather than just listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into two distinct paragraphs, which is appropriate for this task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to signal the transition between the chart and the table. However, the progression of ideas within the paragraphs is sometimes disjointed. The sentences often feel like a list of facts rather than a cohesive report. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final sentence where the connection between the percentages and the categories is confusing. Improving the use of linking phrases to show relationships between data points would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision. You rely on basic verbs like 'shows', 'takes', and 'consume', which are repetitive. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'peoples' (should be 'people'), 'content' (should be 'account for' or 'comprise'), and 'very least' (should be 'lowest'). The term 'negetive' is misspelled. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'account for', 'constitute', 'a significant proportion', or 'the majority'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('The given pie chart and table indicates'), missing articles ('The availability is most negetive review'), and awkward phrasing ('Rest of two content 10% and 19%'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and correct article usage.
