Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the breakdown of user categories and the satisfaction levels. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the chart and table. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting; for instance, you stated that 'no users are unsatisfied' regarding opening hours, but the table shows 0% for 'unsatisfied' and 35% for 'fairly satisfied', which is accurate, but your description of 'journals availability' as having 'questionable outcomes' is vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are described with precise terminology rather than subjective or imprecise language.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on the chart and table respectively. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Similarly', 'In addition', and 'In contrast' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'Turning into table' (should be 'Turning to the table') and 'coves almost a quarter of fractions'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'utilizing', 'occupancy', and 'availability'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'leading the race' (too informal for an academic report), 'coves' (likely a typo for 'covers'), and 'dramatically happy' (an unnatural collocation). Additionally, 'questionable outcome' does not accurately describe the data provided in the table. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that your word choices are appropriate for a formal report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('full-time undergraduate are utilizing', 'full-time postgrads students occupied'), missing articles ('in opening hours', 'with kind attitude'), and incorrect prepositions ('feedback for library users' instead of 'from'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to pluralization, article usage, and subject-verb agreement, and try to vary your sentence structures with more accuracy.
