Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response successfully identifies the main features of both the chart and the table. You have provided a clear overview and selected relevant data points to support your summary. However, the analysis could be more precise; for instance, you state that 'full time undergraduate users use library the most with 44% which is almost twice than full time postgraduate users' (25%), which is mathematically inaccurate. Additionally, some comparisons are slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data comparisons are accurate and that you consistently highlight the most significant trends rather than listing individual figures without sufficient synthesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on the chart and table respectively. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall' and 'As for', to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions, such as 'And in table' or 'Where part time postgraduate users is 16%'. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes repetitive or slightly unnatural. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences connect more smoothly would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'satisfaction levels', and 'reliability'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'the accompanied table', 'makes the higher satisfaction level', and 'opening hpours'. Some phrasing is also repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'figure' to describe percentages. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to common collocations. Spelling errors like 'catagories' and 'hpours' also detract from the overall quality of the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'full time undergraduate users is the largest proportion' (subject-verb agreement), 'are considerd to be the least users' (incorrect phrasing), and 'users are seem not to satisfied' (incorrect verb form). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to impact the clarity of your message. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that complex sentence structures are constructed accurately.
