Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of both the chart and the table. You successfully identified the primary user groups and the highest satisfaction ratings. However, the report is somewhat limited in its analysis. While you mention the highest and lowest categories, you could improve by making more direct comparisons between the data sets or noting trends more comprehensively. For instance, you mention the 95% satisfaction rate for staff but do not contrast this with the lower satisfaction categories. To reach a higher band, ensure that all key features are highlighted and that the relationship between the data is more clearly articulated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall' and 'The second highest', to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the structure could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect the data points more fluidly. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between the pie chart analysis and the table analysis could be more sophisticated to improve the overall progression of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the necessary information. You use some topic-specific terms like 'undergraduate', 'postgraduate', and 'satisfaction level'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and spelling, such as 'catagories' instead of 'categories' and 'in term of' instead of 'in terms of'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited; you rely on basic descriptors. To improve, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for 'high' or 'low' and use more precise collocations to describe statistical data, such as 'account for' or 'constitute'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'in the pie chart library is mostly used' is missing an article, and 'at7 %' contains a spacing error. Additionally, 'no people is dissatisfied' should be 'no one was dissatisfied'. These errors do not significantly impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent use of articles will help improve your accuracy.
