Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the data, but the final paragraph is incomplete and lacks a clear conclusion or full reporting of the satisfaction data. While the overview identifies the main user group, the failure to complete the description of the satisfaction table significantly impacts the task completion. The information provided is accurate, but the abrupt ending means that the comparison of the satisfaction categories is not fully developed, which prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the user categories to the satisfaction levels. However, the cohesion is weakened by the incomplete final sentence, which leaves the reader without a clear conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Looking first at' and 'Turning to' are used effectively to guide the reader, but the lack of a final summary or a complete thought at the end of the text disrupts the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with terms like 'proportion', 'comprising', and 'satisfaction level' used correctly. However, there are some awkward phrasings such as 'holds the maximum proportion' and 'most satisfied review', which are not entirely natural. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. The incomplete sentence at the end also limits the demonstration of lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The pie chart and table illustrates', 'full-time undergraduate holds') and missing articles ('the the users'). The sentence structure is generally simple, and the final sentence is grammatically incomplete ('4users were completely availability of journals'). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors and the lack of complex sentence control prevent a higher score.
