Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the breakdown of user categories and the satisfaction levels. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data from the charts. However, the report could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the categories rather than just listing figures. For instance, noting that full-time undergraduates were more than six times as numerous as academic staff would have added more analytical depth. Additionally, ensure that all data points are clearly linked to the correct categories to avoid ambiguity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, a body paragraph for user categories, and a body paragraph for satisfaction levels. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with' and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader. However, the flow within the final paragraph is slightly mechanical, and some transitions between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but ensure that comparisons are explicitly stated to improve the overall cohesion of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'undergraduate', 'postgraduates', and 'satisfaction'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'most of the users satisfied with helpful staff' (missing the verb 'were') and 'least one was academic staff' (should be 'the least represented group'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that your phrasing is grammatically complete.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally affect the clarity of your writing. For example, you often omit articles ('the' highest number) and auxiliary verbs ('most of the users satisfied'). There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'on books availability' instead of 'regarding book availability'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic articles and verb forms.
