Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the data, including the distribution of users and the satisfaction levels. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the chart and table. However, the response is incomplete; the final sentence regarding 'library opening hours' is cut off mid-sentence, which prevents a full analysis of that data point. To reach a higher band, ensure all data points mentioned are fully described and that the summary is complete. The comparison between categories is well-handled, but the abrupt ending significantly impacts the overall task completion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on different aspects of the data. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'However', and 'In term of', which help guide the reader. However, there are some mechanical errors in the use of these devices, and the flow is interrupted by the incomplete final sentence. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the user categories from the satisfaction levels, which helps the reader follow the structure of your report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'distribution', 'constitute', and 'satisfaction levels'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'distibution', 'amonge', 'helpfullness', 'consitiute', and 'accounte'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on proofreading your work for common spelling mistakes and ensure that your word choices are precise, such as using 'comprise' or 'account for' correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('academic staff consitiute', 'helpfull staff receiving') and incorrect verb forms ('wented for'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the incomplete sentence at the end is a significant error in terms of grammatical control. While you can communicate the main ideas, the frequency of these errors suggests that you need to pay closer attention to basic sentence construction and verb tense consistency.
