Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data from the prompt. The comparison between categories and satisfaction levels is well-handled. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are described with complete accuracy; for instance, your summary of the satisfaction table could be slightly more precise regarding the specific percentages for 'fairly satisfied' versus 'very satisfied' to ensure the reader gets a complete picture of the data provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the data. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Regarding', and 'By contrast' to guide the reader through the information. The progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow. To improve, ensure that referencing is always precise; for example, in the final paragraph, the phrase 'nearly half of them' is slightly ambiguous in its reference to the specific categories of satisfaction. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to a coherent response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information accurately, using terms like 'proportion', 'represents', and 'satisfaction level'. You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, which is good. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in collocation and word choice, such as 'records the least satisfied user' (should be 'records the lowest satisfaction rating') and 'no one expressing dissatisfaction' (which is a bit informal). Expanding your range of reporting verbs and noun phrases would help elevate your score further.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. There are some grammatical slips, such as subject-verb agreement errors ('full-time undergraduate students records' should be 'record', and 'Academic staff make' should be 'makes'). Additionally, there are minor issues with articles, such as 'large proportion of user' (should be 'a large proportion of users'). Despite these errors, your meaning is always clear, and the punctuation is generally accurate. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will help you achieve a higher band.
