Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting. For instance, you state that distance learning students accounted for 'exact half' of the proportion of part-time postgraduates, but 8% is half of 16%, which is correct; however, the phrasing is slightly awkward. Additionally, you mention that full-time undergraduates visited the library more frequently, but the provided data only shows the 'categories of users' and their 'satisfaction levels,' not the frequency of visits. Ensure you stick strictly to the data provided in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use transition signals like 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' to guide the reader. However, some cohesive devices are used mechanically, and there are minor issues with punctuation, such as the unnecessary comma after 'while' in the second paragraph. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words beyond simple sequence markers to better connect the data points within the paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions,' 'accounted for,' and 'satisfaction.' However, there is some repetition of basic structures and vocabulary (e.g., 'proportion of' is used repeatedly). To reach a higher band, try to vary your phrasing by using synonyms or different sentence structures to describe the data. There are also minor collocation issues, such as 'received the highest level of satisfaction gave very positive feedback,' which is grammatically disjointed and impacts the clarity of the sentence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical slips. For example, 'This figure lower in full-time postgraduates group' is missing a verb ('was'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and preposition placement, such as 'with helpfulness of staff' (should be 'with the helpfulness of staff'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring all sentences have a clear main verb.
