The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The below pie chart and table demonstrates different types of people using the library and their overall satisfaction.

Firstly, there are five different categories of library user, with almost all of those being students and accounting for over ninety percent, perhaps unsurprisingly. This is in contrast to staff with academic staff making up only 7% of total users. Notably, full-time undergraduate students are the majority of users with almost half of the library users being an undergraduate student. The next most common user was full-time graduates, making up a quarter of the library users. The remaining eight percent is made up of distance learning users.

Moreover, from the table which exemplifies satisfaction, there are also five different categories here with three different satisfaction options.

The availability of journals appears to be the biggest issue with one in five feeling not satisfied. Interestingly, almost half of users felt very satisfied with the availability of journals and exactly half did feel very satisfied with the availability of books. These statistics are very similar to the reliability of wi-fi, again where almost half felt very satisfied with this and almost twenty percent very unsatisfied. Positively, the staff at the library appear to be very helpful, with almost everyone feeling very satisfied with the helpfulness of staff, with no-one feeling left unsatisfied.
