Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data. However, the report could be improved by making more direct comparisons between categories rather than listing them sequentially. For instance, noting that undergraduates and postgraduates combined account for nearly 70% of users would provide a more analytical perspective. Additionally, the description of the satisfaction levels is a bit repetitive in structure. To reach a higher band, ensure that you synthesize the data more effectively rather than simply reporting the figures for each category one by one.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'According to the pie chart' and 'Overall', to guide the reader. However, the transition between the two data sets (chart and table) is slightly abrupt. Some sentences, particularly in the final paragraph, feel a bit mechanical, such as 'Library opening hours is rated 65%... and if we talk about helpfulness of staff it is 95%'. Using a wider variety of linking words and phrases would improve the flow and make the progression of ideas feel more natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrates', 'frequent users', and 'satisfaction level'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and phrasing, such as 'coving almost half' (likely meant 'covering') and 'general are almost same'. The phrase 'followed a same trend' is also slightly awkward. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your spelling is accurate. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher band scores.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'Full-time undergraduates and postgraduate are' should be plural ('postgraduates'), and 'distance learning and academic staff is 8 and 7 respectively' lacks proper subject-verb agreement ('are'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors, such as 'the data of satisfaction level' and 'the helpfulness of the staff'. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
