The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The chart and table illustrate the results of a survey of library users at a university. The chart shows the categories of library users whereas the table compares the satisfaction level of users.

Overall, most of the library users are full-time undergraduate which is accounted for almost 44% whereas academic staff represented only 7 percent. In addition, full-time undergraduate and full-time postgraduate accounted for the majority of users.

Full-time undergraduates and full-time postgraduates together accounted for 69% of library users. Part-time postgraduate represents 16 percent of the user whereas distance learning is accounted for 8 percent. Academic staff is lowest of all categories which is only 7 percent of the users.

The table shows the result of user's satisfaction level. All the users are either very satisfied or fairly satisfied with library opening hours and helpfulness of staff. Users were least satisfied with the availability of journals, followed closely by the reliability of Wi-Fi. Users are not satisfied with both of these with the addition of availability of books. Helpfulness of staff received the highest level of satisfaction, with 95% of users being very satisfied. By contrast, only 45% were very satisfied with the availability of journals.
