Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the data and provided a clear overview. You included all categories from the pie chart and the key satisfaction levels from the table. However, the report lacks a more analytical approach to comparisons. For example, you list the percentages for the user categories but do not explicitly compare them (e.g., noting that undergraduates are more than triple the number of academic staff). Additionally, the summary of the table is slightly repetitive in its structure. To reach a higher band, focus on grouping data points to highlight trends rather than simply listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Whereas' to link ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the phrase 'and others contributes, which includes... respectively'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, such as 'survey', 'satisfaction', and 'consuming category'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'maximum people' (should be 'the majority of respondents') and 'most consuming category' (which is not appropriate for user types). There are also minor errors in word forms, such as 'contributes' instead of 'contribute'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your vocabulary choices are contextually appropriate for a formal report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('The pie chart and table illustrates') and article usage ('the helpfulness of staff'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'Fairly satisfied category has given an feedback on availability of books is 40%'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the data, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
