Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the data provided, but it fails to present a clear, logical summary. The information is presented in a fragmented manner, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between user categories and satisfaction levels. While some data points are mentioned, the report lacks a cohesive overview of the main trends. The description of the data is often confusing, such as the mention of 'third number on that the persons list', which does not clearly relate to the provided chart. To improve, you should group related data points together and ensure that the main features are highlighted clearly rather than listing figures in a disjointed way.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. The paragraphing is ineffective, as the text is essentially a collection of loosely connected sentences rather than a well-organized report. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the awkward transition 'Third number on that the persons list'. The progression of ideas is not logical, and the reader struggles to understand the relationship between the different parts of the survey results. To achieve a higher band, you must use clear paragraph breaks to separate different aspects of the data and employ a wider range of linking words to guide the reader through your analysis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. Phrases like 'in sense of number' and 'gratified list' are unnatural and imprecise. There is a lack of variety in the language used to describe trends or comparisons. While you attempt to use some specific terms, the overall control of vocabulary is weak, and word choice is frequently inaccurate, which occasionally impedes the clarity of the information. You should focus on learning standard academic collocations for describing charts, such as 'a significant proportion', 'the majority of', or 'a downward trend', to improve the precision and sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with sentence structure, such as 'comprising of five different categories' (should be 'comprising five' or 'composed of five') and 'teaching staff least at 7%' (missing a verb). Punctuation is also inconsistent, and there are errors in subject-verb agreement and preposition usage throughout the text. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb.
