Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting. For example, you stated that 'part-time post graduate were least users', but the data shows that 'Academic staff' and 'Distance learning' were lower. Additionally, your description of the satisfaction levels is a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that your data selection is precise and that you make more direct comparisons between the categories rather than just listing the figures for each one individually.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'According to', 'Next', and 'Finally', to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. The transition between the pie chart data and the table data is abrupt. To improve, try to use more sophisticated linking phrases to connect your comparisons, and ensure that your referencing is always clear. The paragraphing is appropriate, which helps the overall readability of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, such as 'proportion', 'satisfaction level', and 'reliability'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'helfulness' (helpfulness), 'postgraduuate' (postgraduate), and 'illustrates' (should be 'illustrate' to agree with the plural subject 'chart and table'). You also rely on basic phrasing like 'least users' and 'numbers of library user'. Expanding your range to include more precise academic collocations would enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The given pie chart and table illustrates') and missing articles ('in table', 'in survey'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex sentence structures with greater precision.
