Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data. However, the response could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the categories rather than just listing figures. For instance, noting that the proportion of full-time undergraduates is more than double that of full-time postgraduates would demonstrate a higher level of analytical skill. Additionally, ensure that all data points are accurately interpreted; for example, your description of the table data is slightly confusing in its presentation of satisfaction versus dissatisfaction levels. Overall, you have covered the requirements well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'meanwhile', 'furthermore', and 'whereas' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the phrase 'in addition, distance learning and academic staff contribute to 8% and 7% respectively' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would help elevate your score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'outcomes', and 'significantly'. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation. For example, 'stand first in the categories' is not the most natural way to express that a group is the largest. Additionally, 'library consumers' is less precise than 'library users'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'constitute', 'account for', or 'a substantial majority'. Your spelling is generally accurate, but pay attention to precision in your descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are several grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For instance, the opening sentence has an unnecessary comma after 'illustrates'. There are also subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'the proportion of full-time undergraduate learners are' (should be 'is'). Furthermore, the sentence '19% on reliability of wi-fi' is a fragment and lacks a verb. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and sentence completeness.
