Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task well. You have successfully identified the main features of the pie chart and the table, providing clear comparisons between user categories and satisfaction levels. The overview is effective, highlighting the most significant trends. However, the description of the table data is slightly inconsistent; for example, you mention 'no respondents expressing dissatisfaction' for one category but fail to name the category, and the final sentence regarding journal availability and wifi reliability is grammatically fragmented and lacks clarity in data presentation. To reach a higher band, ensure all data points are clearly linked to their respective categories.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'In contrast', and 'thus' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by mechanical errors and missing transitions between sentences in the final paragraph. The referencing is generally clear, but the lack of smooth transitions between the data points in the final section makes the progression feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'dominant category', and 'comprised'. However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'satisfication', 'availbility', 'libarary', and 'helpfullness'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary, the repetition of 'satisfied' and 'fairly satisfied' limits the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on proofreading for spelling accuracy and try to incorporate a wider variety of synonyms to describe data trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the table show'), missing articles ('the reliability of wifi'), and awkward phrasing in the final paragraph ('satisfied for avaibility of journal lower 45%'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that complex sentences are constructed with correct grammatical markers to avoid fragmentation.
