Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the data, such as the user categories and satisfaction levels. However, the presentation is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, cohesive summary of the trends. While you identified the highest and lowest categories, the comparison of satisfaction levels is hampered by inaccurate data reporting (e.g., stating '0%' for dissatisfaction when the table suggests otherwise). The overview is present but lacks depth. To improve, ensure that you group data logically rather than listing figures, and double-check the accuracy of the data points you select to ensure they accurately reflect the provided charts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often awkward or incorrect, such as starting a sentence with 'While, table compare...' or 'Moreover the part time postgraduate are only used in library are 16%'. These errors make the progression of ideas feel disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the pie chart data and the table data is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words like 'consequently', 'in contrast', or 'furthermore' would help create a more natural flow between your sentences and paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on the words provided in the prompt. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'propagation' instead of 'proportion', 'Heplfilness' (spelling error), and 'Availability of journalists' instead of 'journals'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'account for', 'constitute', 'the majority of', or 'a significant proportion', and pay closer attention to spelling and accurate word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Full time undergraduate are', 'Student are not satisfied') and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary articles and prepositions. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often inaccurate, which leads to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and using articles correctly. Reducing the number of errors in simple sentences will significantly improve the clarity of your writing and help you achieve a higher band score.
