The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The pie chart illustrates the proportions of different types of library users, while the table shows their levels of satisfaction with five aspects of the library.

Overall, full-time undergraduate students made up the largest proportion of library users, whereas academic staff accounted for the smallest share. In terms of satisfaction, users were generally most satisfied with the helpfulness of library staff, while the availability of journals and the reliability of Wi-Fi received comparatively lower ratings.

It is apparent from the chart, full-time undergraduates represented the largest group of library users, at 44%. Full-time postgraduates were the second-largest group, accounting for 25%. Part-time undergraduates and postgraduates made up smaller proportions. Distance-learning students and academic staff represented the smallest groups, at 8% and 7% respectively.

Moving further, in table, the helpfulness of library staff received the highest level of satisfaction. Users were also relatively satisfied with the opening hours and the availability of books. By contrast, satisfaction with the availability of journals was lower, and Wi-Fi reliability was also among the less satisfactory aspects of the library.
