The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Categories of library users

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The table and Pie chart compare a survey of library users and their categories in a University library. As illustrated by the diagram the highest proportion was of the full time Undergraduate category, followed by comes the full time Post graduate category. Followed by the Part time Post graduate then the distance learning and academic staff. However, in all categories majority of the users were satisfied with only a few not satisfied in two categories.

To begin with, the Pie chart illustrates the categories of library users with full time undergraduate students having the greatest proportion of 44%. Followed by come the full time Post graduate students with an average of 25%. Then come the Part time post graduate and distance learning with an proportion of 16% and 8% respectively. Furthermore the academic staff makes up 7% of the library users. The survey was to verify what proportion of the users were "very satisfied", "fairly satisfied" or "not satisfied" at all with the facilities offered by the library. First of all, majority of the users were "very satisfied" with its opening hours with an percentage of 65% while 35% of its users were fairly satisfied and none of them were dissatisfied.

Then with the helping nature of staff help offered by the staff 95% of its users were very satisfied with only 5% being fairly dissatisfied and none of them was dissatisfied. Moreover, for the availability of books 50% of its users were very satisfied, 40% were fairly satisfied and only 10% were not satisfied. Additionally, for the availability of journals 45% of its users were satisfied and 35% were fairly satisfied but 20% were not satisfied. Finally, for the reliability of wi-fi 48% were very satisfied, 33% were fairly satisfied and 19% were not satisfied.
