Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the pie chart and the table. You successfully identified the main features, such as the largest user group (full-time undergraduates) and the highest satisfaction ratings. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, analytical comparison. For instance, while you list the data, you do not always synthesize the information effectively to highlight trends. The overview is present but could be more concise. To improve, focus on grouping related data points rather than listing them individually, which would help in providing a more cohesive summary of the information presented in the visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Regarding to', 'Turning to', and 'In additional', although some of these are used incorrectly or sound unnatural (e.g., 'Regarding to' should be 'Regarding'). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences is sometimes hindered by repetitive sentence structures. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'segment', 'portion', and 'registered'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'available of books' instead of 'availability of books' and 'substantial points' to describe satisfaction levels. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your report. To reach a higher band, focus on using more accurate collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing when describing data points.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The pie chart illustrate') and article usage (e.g., 'while table compare'). Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack necessary prepositions, such as 'This was followed as full-time postgraduate users'. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding the meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, such as verb endings and article placement, will significantly improve your score.
