Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the data, such as the user categories and the satisfaction levels for various services. However, the response lacks a clear overview or summary statement that synthesizes the trends. While you mention specific percentages, the analysis is somewhat fragmented. For example, the sentence 'The helpfulness of staff was the greatest indicator of very satisfied...' is confusing and lacks clarity. To improve, ensure you group related data points more logically and provide a clear, concise summary of the overall trends rather than just listing statistics. The comparison between categories is present but could be more analytical.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Similarly' is used to introduce data that is not necessarily similar in nature to the previous paragraph. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, such as 'Availability of journal was the another service which was very satisfied covering 45% whereas percentile of fairly satisfied was 35% and unsatisfied was 20%.' Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider range of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, but there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors. Phrases like 'highest amount of library users' should be 'highest number of library users' (as users are countable). The term 'percentile' is used incorrectly throughout the text; you are referring to 'percentages'. Furthermore, 'was the another service' is grammatically incorrect. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology and ensuring that your word choices are appropriate for a formal report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
Your writing contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'lowest amount library users was'), missing articles (e.g., 'in library opening hours'), and awkward sentence construction. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, especially regarding pluralization and article usage.
