Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of both the chart and the table, providing a clear overview of user categories and satisfaction levels. You made relevant comparisons, such as noting the high satisfaction with staff versus the lower satisfaction with journal availability. However, the report could be improved by grouping the data more logically rather than listing figures sequentially. Additionally, some of your interpretations are slightly inaccurate; for instance, stating that 'academic staff and distance learning... consumes library 7% and 8%' is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, ensure you provide a more precise synthesis of the data rather than just listing percentages, and avoid making subjective claims like 'read books more from the other individuals' which are not supported by the provided data.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organised into three paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In terms of', which assist in transitioning between the chart and the table. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'the rest were not satisfied' without specifying the exact category. The logical progression is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to avoid a list-like feel. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'satisfaction statistics', 'reliability', and 'accounted for'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and spelling errors, such as 'helpness' (helpfulness), 'indivuals' (individuals), and 'catogry' (category). Additionally, phrases like 'consumes library' are not natural collocations in this context. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and double-check your spelling. While your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main points, the frequent errors and limited range prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'were accounted most from all other users' (should be 'accounted for the largest proportion'), 'these are all time highest users catogry' (should be 'this is the largest category of users'), and 'with helpness of staff there were almost all users satisfied'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly difficult to follow. While you attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will significantly improve your accuracy and clarity.
