Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing both the pie chart and the table. You successfully identified the main features, such as the dominance of full-time undergraduates and the high satisfaction levels regarding staff helpfulness. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical, and the comparison between categories could be more integrated. For instance, while you mention the percentages, you could improve by grouping related data more effectively to highlight trends rather than just listing figures. The overview is present but could be more clearly articulated to provide a stronger summary of the data's significance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Turning to the table' and 'In addition to this' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the connection between the two data sets could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'distribution', and 'amenity'. However, there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and non-standard phrasing, such as 'inf distribution', 'percentum', and 'eacademic'. Additionally, some collocations are unnatural, such as 'allocated onto' or 'slightly differed percentage'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the data, they limit the precision of your report. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'most of the users were are full time', 'full-time undergraduates were are accounted for', and 'staff helpfulness category have most higher proportion'. These errors, particularly with verb tense and subject-verb agreement, are noticeable. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these slips suggests a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic sentence construction. Focusing on consistent verb forms and avoiding redundant auxiliary verbs will significantly improve your accuracy.
