Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of both the chart and the table. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, integrated comparison. While you identified the highest and lowest categories, the description of the table data is confusing, particularly the attempt to group percentages (e.g., '65% to 95%'), which misrepresents the data provided. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between the two data sets and avoid listing figures without sufficient analytical context. The overview is present but could be more effectively synthesised to highlight the most significant trends rather than just listing extremes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is hindered by repetitive sentence structures and awkward transitions. Phrases like 'Looking at the information in grater detail' and 'Turning to the remaining figures' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is often disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the connection between the categories and the satisfaction levels. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There is a heavy reliance on basic verbs like 'accounted for', 'recorded', and 'stood at', which makes the writing feel repetitive. Furthermore, there are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'grater' (spelling error) and the awkward phrasing 'experienced a 16% library users'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a broader range of synonyms and more sophisticated collocations to describe trends and proportions, such as 'constituted', 'represented', or 'comprised'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include missing articles (e.g., 'table show the result'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'chart and table provides'), and awkward phrasing that affects the accuracy of the information conveyed. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly regarding the use of commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage, which are essential for achieving a higher band score.
