Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response effectively summarizes the main features of the data provided. You have successfully identified the key trends in the user categories and the satisfaction levels. The overview is clear and highlights the most significant points. However, the report could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the categories rather than just listing the percentages. For instance, noting that full-time undergraduates are more than six times as numerous as academic staff would add analytical depth. The data is accurately represented, and all parts of the prompt are addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a summary. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You have used some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Furthermore', and 'Looking at', which help to link the sentences together. However, the transition between the user categories and the satisfaction table could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the information is presented in a way that is easy for the reader to navigate.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Terms like 'proportion', 'accounted for', and 'represented' are used correctly in the context of data reporting. There are no significant spelling or word-choice errors that impede communication. To reach a higher band, you could incorporate more precise collocations or varied synonyms for 'satisfied' and 'dissatisfied' to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. Most sentences are grammatically accurate, though there are minor slips, such as 'while the distance learning for all courses with 8%', which lacks a verb. Another minor issue is the phrasing 'each having 25% and 16% respectively', which is slightly awkward. Despite these minor errors, the meaning is always clear, and the punctuation is generally well-handled. Increasing the use of more complex, error-free structures would improve this score.
