Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of both the chart and the table, identifying the primary user categories and key satisfaction levels. However, the reporting of data is sometimes imprecise or confusing. For instance, stating 'availability of journal and reliability of wi-fi had nearly similar review' is vague and does not clearly convey the specific data points to the reader. Additionally, the summary of satisfaction levels lacks a clear structure, making it difficult to follow the comparisons. To improve, ensure that all key figures are accurately reported and that comparisons are explicitly linked to the data provided in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into three paragraphs, which is a logical approach for this task. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Moreover' and 'In addition' are used, but the flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. For example, the transition between the user categories and the satisfaction levels is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the categories and the satisfaction percentages is not well-signposted, making the progression of ideas feel somewhat disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'held 44% of total' and 'review on very satisfied is highest'. Spelling errors are also present, including 'helpfullness', 'availabilty', and 'categeories'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the student relies on repetitive structures to describe the data. Using more precise terminology, such as 'accounted for', 'proportion', or 'indicated', would significantly enhance the quality of the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('The chart and table illustrates', 'Library user are showed'), article usage ('the highest user of library'), and sentence construction. Punctuation is also problematic, with several run-on sentences and missing commas. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader and indicate a lack of control over complex grammatical forms. Focusing on basic sentence structure and subject-verb agreement would be a beneficial starting point for improvement.
