Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the user categories and satisfaction levels. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identified the dominant group (undergraduates at 44%), the comparison between categories could be more analytical. Furthermore, the description of the satisfaction table is slightly inaccurate; for instance, you mention 'availability of the books were scarce', but the data actually shows satisfaction percentages, not scarcity. To improve, ensure you accurately interpret the data labels and provide a more cohesive summary of the trends rather than just listing percentages. The overview is present but lacks a clear synthesis of the two data sets.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is mechanical. You rely heavily on the word 'while' to start sentences, which creates a repetitive structure and does not always serve as an effective cohesive device. For example, 'While the table inform us...' and 'While others remained...' are used incorrectly as sentence starters. The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, moving from user categories to satisfaction levels without a smooth transition. Using a wider variety of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'in contrast', or 'consequently' would improve the logical flow and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks precision and variety. You use basic terms like 'dominants' (which should be 'dominant group') and 'happy' (which is informal for a report). There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'corporative staff' instead of 'cooperative staff' and 'inform us that how much' which is grammatically awkward. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to data description, such as 'the majority of', 'a significant proportion', or 'levels of satisfaction'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'the table and chart... illustrates' (should be 'illustrate') and 'the table show' (should be 'shows'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and incorrect use of hyphens in 'part--time'. The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complex constructions. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentence structures are grammatically sound before attempting more complex forms.
