The pie chart illustrates the types of library users at a university, while the table compares their levels of satisfaction.
Overall, full-time undergraduates accounted for the highest proportion of those who accessed library, whereas the majority of users were satisfied with the helpfulness of the staff and dissatisfied with the availability of journals.
The category of library users that accounted for the highest proportion was full-time undergraduates, at 44%, followed by full-time postgraduates, at 25%. By contrast, academic staff constituted the lowest proportion among the five categories, at 7%. The figure for part-time postgraduates stood at 16%, while distance learning (all courses) made up 8%.
In terms of satisfaction, the majority of users were very satisfied with the helpfulness of the staff, at 95%, whereas 5% of them were fairly satisfied. The proportions of people who were very satisfied with library opening hours, the availabilityof journals, and the reliability of WI-FI stood at 65%, 45% and 48%, respectively. The percentages of users who were fairly satisfied with availability of books stood at 40%, whereas the figures for other services were lower. Notably, 20% and 19% were not satisfied with journals and WI-FI, respectively. Meanwhile, 10% were dissatisfied with books, whereas no dissatisfaction was reported for opening hours or staff helpfulness.
