The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Categories of library users

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart illustrates the proportion of different categories of people who use a university library, but the table shows the level of satisfaction among user regarding to the various aspects of library facilities.

Overall, the full time undergraduates made up of the largest group of the library users, while academic staff made least proportion of the library users. In term of satisfaction, users were most pleased with the helpfulness of staff and the least satisfaction with the availability of journals and the reliability of wi-fi.

In terms of the users categories, 44% of library users were full-time undergraduates, making them a biggest group. Full-time postgraduates accounted 25% followed by the part-time postgraduates at 16%.Distance learning students made up 8%, while academic staff represented the least proportion at just 7% of library users.

Regarding to the satisfaction levels, helpfulness of staff scored the highest, with 95% of users being satisfied and non expressing dissatisfaction. In contrast, availability of journals received the lowest very satisfied rating at 45%, and had the highest not satisfied figure of 20%, Similarly, 19% were not satisfied with wi-fi reliability. Availability of books fell in middle, with 50% very satisfied and 10% not satisfied.
