Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have successfully addressed all parts of the task. The response provides a clear overview of the main features from both the pie chart and the table. You have selected relevant data points to support your summary, such as the breakdown of user categories and the comparative satisfaction levels. The information is accurate and well-selected, allowing the reader to grasp the key trends immediately. To reach a higher band, ensure that you consistently make direct comparisons between the data sets where possible, rather than just listing figures, although your current approach is already quite effective and balanced.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs that group information thematically. The progression of ideas is smooth, and you have used a range of cohesive devices effectively, such as 'whereas', 'in terms of', and 'this was followed by'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the user categories from the satisfaction data. The flow of information is natural, and the referencing between sentences is clear, which makes the report easy to follow throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You have demonstrated a good range of vocabulary appropriate for an academic report. Phrases such as 'accounted for the largest proportion', 'constituted the remaining', and 'highest level of dissatisfaction' show a good command of language. The vocabulary is precise and used accurately to describe the data. While the range is sufficient for the task, incorporating a few more sophisticated collocations or varied synonyms for 'satisfied' or 'represented' could elevate the response further. Overall, the lexical control is strong and supports clear communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5
The response displays a high level of grammatical accuracy. You have used a variety of sentence structures, including complex sentences with subordinate clauses, such as 'while the table shows the level of satisfaction among these users with various library facilities.' Punctuation is used correctly, and there are no significant errors that impede communication. The majority of your sentences are error-free, and you demonstrate good control over tense usage and subject-verb agreement. The writing is fluent and professional, meeting the requirements for a high band score in this criterion.
