The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Categories of library users
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart shows the proportion of five categories of library users including: academic staff, full-time undergraduate students, full-time postgraduate students, part-time postgraduate students and distance learners for all courses. Whereas, the table demonstrates the percentage of library user satisfaction for different facilities of the library.
Overall, full-time undergraduate students are among the top users of the library. Academic staff use the library the least of all categories. The users were most satisfied by the helpfulness of staff at the library with no percentage of people unstaisfied with the facility. Highest amount of people were unsatisfied with the availability of journals. No one showed unsatisfaction about the library opening hours.
The library is attended by 44 percent of full-time undergraduates whereas only 25 percent of full-time postgraduates use library. 16 percent of part-time postgraduate students also use the library whereas academic staff and distance learners visit library the least only eight and seven percent respectively.
The users also demonstrated their satisfaction regarding different facilities at the library. sixty-five percent os users were very satisfied by the library opening hours and rest showed fair satisfaction with no one unsatisfied. Helpfulness of staff at the library accounted for the highest percentage of user satisfaction at ninety-five percent with only five percent fairly satisfied users and no unsatisfied user. Only fifty percent of users were satisfied with the avilabilty of books at the library. Although forty percent users were fairly satisfied there were ten percent of unsatisfied users. Availabiity of journals dissatisfied highest perecentage of users at twenty percent but a total of eighty-percent were satisfied overall. Reliabilty of wi-fi also received nineteen percent dissatisfaction amongst the users and a total of eighty-one percent users were satisfied with the facility.

However, some mechanical linking is present, such as starting consecutive sentences with 'The users' or repeating sentence structures. Referencing is mostly clear, though occasional transitional flow could be improved to enhance cohesion further.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'proportion', 'satisfaction', 'availability', and 'facility'. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary like 'unstaisfied' (spelling error) and 'reliability'.
