The chart and table illustrate the categories of library users at a university and their levels of satisfaction with different library services.
Overall, it is clear that full-time undergraduates made up the largest proportion of library users, while academic staff represented the smallest group. In terms of satisfaction, the helpfulness of staff received the highest level of satisfaction, whereas the availability of journals had the greatest proportion of users who were not satisfied.
Looking first at the categories of library users, full-time undergraduates accounted for 44%, compared with 25% for full-time postgraduates. Part-time postgraduates represented 16%, while distance-learning students made up 8% of users. Meanwhile, academic staff accounted for the smallest proportion, at just 7%.
Turning to library satisfaction, 95% of users were very satisfied with the helpfulness of staff, while the remaining 5% were fairly satisfied and nobody was dissatisfied. Library opening hours also received relatively positive responses, with 65% being very satisfied and 35% fairly satisfied. For the availability of books, the figures were 50%, 40% and 10% respectively. By comparison, satisfaction was lower for journals and Wi-Fi, with 20% and 19% of users respectively reporting that they were not satisfied.
