The pie chart illustrates the proportion of different categories of users at a university library, while the table presents their satisfaction levels regarding five aspects of the library.
Overall, full-time undergraduates constituted by far the largest proportion of library users, whereas academic staff accounted for the smallest share. In terms of satisfaction, staff helpfulness received the most favourable response, while the availability of journals attracted the highest level of dissatisfaction.
Full-time undergraduates represented 44% of library users, followed by full-time postgraduates at 25%. Part-time postgraduates accounted for 16%, while distance learners and academic staff comprised considerably smaller proportions, at 8% and 7%, respectively.
Regarding satisfaction, 65% of users were very satisfied with the library's opening hours, with the remaining 35% being fairly satisfied and none dissatisfied. Staff helpfulness recorded an exceptionally high 95% level of very high satisfaction, while only 5% were fairly satisfied. Satisfaction with book availability was also relatively strong, with 50% very satisfied. By contrast, journals had the lowest very-satisfied figure, at 45%, and the highest dissatisfaction rate, at 20%.
