The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Categories of library users
Student answer (Band 7.0)
The pie chart illustrates the percentages of different categories of library users , while the table shows the percentages of people who were very satisfied, fairly satisfied and not satisfied with five differnt services of the library.
Overall, the highest proportion of library users was full-time undergraduate, while the academic staff recorded the lowest figure. The highest percentage of the library user was satisfied with the helpfulness of staff and library opening hours, while the largest proportion of the library users was not satisfied with the availability of journal and wi-fi.
Full-time undergarduate made up of 44% of the total library users. This was followed by full-time postgraduate and part-time postgraduate at 25% and 16%, respectively. Meanwhile, the distance learners from all courses recorded 8% while the academic staff accounted for 7%.
65% of the library users were very satisfied with the library opening hours, followed by 35% who were fairly satisfied. 95% and 5% of the library users were very and fairly satisfied with the helpfulness of staff, respectively. Half of the library users were very satisfied with the availability of books. This was followed by 40% and !0% who were fairly and not satisfied with this service.
A large number of students were not satisfied with the availability of books and reliability of wi-fi at 20% and 19%, respectively.
