The chart and table below show the results of a survey of library users at a university.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart shows the categories of people who use the library, and the table shows how satisfied library users are with the provided facilities.

Overall, the pie chart has segments, which show different kinds of library users. The largest contributing proportion is Full-time undergraduate, while the smallest proportion is Distance learning. The table provides the information of satisfaction with three levels, and five facilities.

The largest contribution in pie chart is the students who are pursuing their full-time undergraduate, which is 44%. The contribution is decreasing afterwards. The students who are enrolled in full-time masters have the proportion of 25% contribution, while 16% of part-time master’s students use library. The chart depicts that distance learning and academic staff have almost similar ratio with the difference of 1%. Distance learning contributes 8%, but the academic staff has least contribution, which is 7% overall.

The table provides the satisfaction level of library users with the provided facilities. The table shows that the large number of users is highly satisfied with the opening hours of library and there is not a single unsatisfied user with the opening hours. The helpfulness of staff is the significant factor as 95% library users are very satisfied, followed by five fairly satisfied users, and there is again 0% unsatisfied users. Moreover, other facilities such as, the availability of books and journals and the reliability of wi-fi have some non-satisfied users. 48% people are very satisfied with the reliability of wi-fi, and 50% and 45% are highly satisfied with the availability of books and journals respectively. The availability of journals has the largest number of unsatisfied users, which is 20%.
