Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt by reporting figures from the pie chart (categories of library users) and the satisfaction table. However, the data presentation lacks organisation and clear comparisons. For example, the student writes, 'Where full time undergraduates are 44 percent and on the other hand full time post graduates are 24 percent,' which contains an inaccurate figure (the chart shows 25%). Furthermore, there is no real overview provided at the beginning or end of the text. While the main features are touched upon, the lack of synthesis and the presence of minor data inaccuracies place this response at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The coherence of the essay is weak. The text fails to use proper paragraphing, grouping almost all information into a single dense block or fragmented sentences without clear progression. Cohesive devices are either missing, repetitive, or inaccurate, such as starting sentences with 'Where' or 'At last reliability of wifi'. Although there is a basic sequence moving from the chart data to the table data, the overall arrangement is disjointed and lacks logical transitions, resulting in a Band 4.5 descriptor profile, rounded to 5.0 for overall comprehensibility.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive ('very satisfy', 'fairly satisfy', 'not satisfy', 'score'). There are also several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'libarary' (library), 'helpfullness' (helpfulness), 'gernals' (journals), and 'stisfay' (satisfied). The student attempts some topic-related terminology from the prompt, but the range is limited and inadequate for a higher band. These errors and the restricted vocabulary range constrain the lexical score to Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical structures are extremely simple, consisting mostly of listing data with repetitive phrasing ('is 45 in very satisfy and 35 in fairly satisfy'). There is a lack of complex sentence forms, and punctuation is poorly managed, often omitting full stops or commas between clauses. Grammatical errors are frequent, including tense and preposition slips ('Distance of learning', 'they will be very satisfying in case of 65 score'). Due to the limited range of structures and frequent errors, this criterion meets the Band 5.0 level.
