On the other hand, the people who have keen interest in spending their time at library belongs to the academic staff.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to cover parts of the chart and table, but it misinterprets key data points. For example, the student states that full-time postgraduates spend the most time, whereas the chart shows full-time undergraduates are the largest group at 44%. Furthermore, the description of categories ('how they often visit library and interest in spending their time there') reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of the chart, which actually shows the percentage breakdown of different user categories. While the student correctly identifies the 95% figure for staff helpfulness, the overall treatment of the data is inaccurate and lacks a clear, well-supported overview. The response falls into Band 4 due to misinterpretation of data and incomplete coverage.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response lacks a logical overall progression. It begins with an informal conversational phrase ('Well if we talk about...'), and the paragraphing is poor, resulting in a single block of text below the introduction rather than structured body paragraphs. Cohesive devices are weak or misused, such as 'dispite this' and 'comes comes later in this figure', which creates mechanical and repetitive transitions. References between sentences are occasionally unclear, making the flow difficult to follow. This level of organisation corresponds to Band 4 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'statisfied' instead of 'satisfied', 'dispite' instead of 'despite', and 'sevices' instead of 'services'. The student attempts some task-related vocabulary like 'academic staff' and 'reliability', but the range is limited and inadequate for a precise academic summary. These errors sometimes strain the reader and reflect a weak lexical control that aligns with Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The text displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple or faulty complex sentences. There are notable grammatical errors throughout, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('This chart and table shows', 'the full time undergraduate... comes comes later'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('the people who have keen interest in spending their time at library belongs'). Punctuation is also sparse and sometimes faulty. Because errors are frequent and occasionally obscure the intended meaning, a Band 4 score is appropriate.
