Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response attempts to cover both parts of the prompt regarding the categories of library users and the satisfaction survey results. However, the information is only partially presented, and some details are inaccurately or awkwardly reported, such as stating that 'The full time postgraduate users are one fourth percent of total' or misinterpreting the table data. While an overview is attempted in the opening paragraphs, the lack of thorough development and clear selection of main features limits the depth of the response. To move to a higher level, you should ensure all key data points from the visual inputs are reported accurately and extended with clearer comparisons across categories rather than listing isolated figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The text shows an attempt at logical organisation by dividing the overview, the user categories, and the satisfaction table into separate paragraphs. However, overall progression is limited, and the transitions between sentences can feel disjointed or mechanical. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inappropriately, such as 'The table was divided satisfied feild into three types'. Referencing and linking phrases need to be handled more flexibly to guide the reader smoothly through the comparison of figures. To improve, focus on structuring your paragraphs around clear thematic groups and using a wider, more accurate range of linking words to connect your ideas logically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Vocabulary usage is limited and heavily relies on basic terms from the prompt, alongside frequent word choice and spelling errors that occasionally impede understanding. Examples of inadequate lexical control include 'majior on helpfulness staff', 'feild', 'remains 0', and 'avalibility'. There are also awkward word formations and imprecise phrasing, such as 'one fourth percent of total' and 'half of amount'. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your range of vocabulary, use less common lexical items with greater precision regarding collocation and style, and pay closer attention to spelling and standard word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying primarily on simple sentences with frequent structural errors. When complex sentences are attempted, they are often faulty or ungrammatical, as seen in 'The below chart and table illustrate about survey' or 'Helpfulness of staff was 95% of people are very satisfied'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement throughout the text, which can cause difficulty for the reader. To improve your grammar score, work on mastering basic sentence construction, eliminating frequent mechanical errors, and using a wider variety of accurate complex structures.
