Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially by presenting some of the main features from both the pie chart and the table. An overall trend is attempted, and most categories of library users are reported, along with several satisfaction percentages. However, some data points are inaccurate or misreported, such as the claim that 'the reliability of wifi satisfaction percentage is 45% and 35% are fairly satisfied' (which misquotes the very satisfied figure of 48%) and the confusing phrasing regarding library opening hours and book availability. Ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, lacking a fully cohesive overview of all key comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organisation with an introductory sentence and grouped paragraphs attempting to separate user categories from satisfaction ratings, but there is no clear overall progression. Paragraphing is disjointed, with sentences running together or starting in the middle of lines without proper capitalization. Cohesive devices are very basic, repetitive, or inaccurate, relying heavily on simple repetition of terms like 'the number of users' rather than effective referencing. To move to a higher band, the student needs to use logical sequencing and a wider variety of cohesive markers to guide the reader smoothly through the comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, with frequent lexical errors that impact the precision of the data reporting. There are numerous spelling and word-form errors, such as 'undergradute' instead of 'undergraduate', 'helpfullnes' instead of 'helpfulness', 'availiabilty' instead of 'availability', and 'propotion' instead of 'proportion'. Word choices are repetitive, and phrases like 'less number of satisfied from availiabilty' show awkward collocation and strain the reader's understanding. To improve, the student must expand their range of vocabulary for describing proportions and survey data while paying close attention to accurate spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text relies on a very limited range of sentence structures, with frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. There are numerous missing or incorrect capitalization instances at the start of sentences (e.g., 'overall', 'in user satisfaction chart'), missing articles (e.g., 'academic represented the smallest share'), and faulty relative clauses and prepositional patterns, such as 'The number of users who's use library more than all categories' and 'is very satified from helpfullnes of staff'. Punctuation is weak, with missing full stops and run-on sentences. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher band.
