Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by covering both the pie chart and the table, and presents an overview with main trends. However, some parts are developed more fully than others. While you successfully report the highest and lowest user categories, such as full-time undergraduates at 44 percent and academic staff at 7 percent, certain details are slightly inaccurate, such as stating part-time postgraduates accounted for 15 percent instead of the 16 percent shown in the visual data. Additionally, while satisfaction aspects are mentioned, the ideas tend to list data mechanically rather than extending the comparisons between categories more deeply. To move to a higher band, ensure complete numerical accuracy when reporting figures and provide a more fully developed comparison across all data points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing used to separate the introduction, overview, pie chart details, and table data. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Interm of users satisfaction level' and 'According to the piechart' are slightly repetitive or incorrectly spelled. Referencing and progression between sentences occasionally feel abrupt, lacking smoother cohesive links to guide the reader effortlessly through the data. To improve, work on varying your cohesive devices and ensuring logical transitions between paragraphs and ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, successfully using terms like 'proportion', 'constituted', and 'satisfaction level'. You attempt less common vocabulary, but there are some word-choice and spelling errors that prevent a higher score, such as 'illustrate' instead of 'illustrates', 'table provide' missing an article, 'Interm' instead of 'In terms', and 'lowed' instead of 'lowest'. These inaccuracies do not impede overall communication, but they restrict your range. To reach a higher band, refine your spelling and use more precise lexical chunks and collocations when describing statistical trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'The pie chart illustrate... while table provide...' and 'Regarding percentage of users who are satisfied...'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('while table provide', 'Regarding percentage'), subject-verb agreement issues ('The pie chart illustrate', 'academic staff holds'), and punctuation errors like missing periods or commas in lists. These errors require some attention from the reader, placing your grammar control at this level. To improve, focus on careful proofreading of basic grammatical structures, articles, and verb-subject agreement.
