Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 39 words (with 11 words copied directly from the prompt, which are excluded from the word count). Consequently, the response is severely underdeveloped and falls well short of the 150-word minimum. While the student attempts to summarise the visual data by mentioning that full-time undergraduates are the largest group of library users and academic staff are the lowest, and briefly touches upon satisfaction levels regarding staff helpfulness and journal availability, the information is extremely limited. The overview is rudimentary, and key features and comparisons are largely omitted due to the extreme brevity of the text.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The text consists of only two very short sentences, making it impossible to evaluate paragraphing or extended cohesive devices properly. Although the opening sentence uses an introductory transitional phrase ("Overall,"), the lack of a proper paragraph structure and the absence of clear logical progression between sentences severely limit overall cohesion. Ideas are presented in isolated fragments rather than being smoothly connected to form a coherent overview and detailed body paragraphs.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and minimally adequate for the task, with some noticeable errors in word choice and spelling. For instance, the student misspells "academic" as "acedemic" and uses simplistic phrasing such as "use the library and the lowest users" and "most user not satisfied". While the student attempts some less common vocabulary related to the prompt, such as "satisfaction" and "availability", the range is very limited, and inaccuracies in collocation and word form restrict the precision of the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structures attempted are extremely limited, consisting of basic sentences with noticeable errors. The student makes mistakes in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as omitting necessary plural markers or determiners (e.g., "the data illustrates" where data is plural, and "most user not satisfied" which lacks a verb and correct pluralisation). Complex sentence forms are absent, and the frequent basic errors, though they do not completely obscure the intended meaning, reflect a restricted control of grammatical structures.
