Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While the student attempts to summarise both the pie chart and the table, the coverage of the visual data is limited and contains significant omissions and inaccuracies. For example, the student correctly identifies full-time undergraduates as the largest group at 44 percent, but the reporting of the table data is vague and confused, incorrectly stating that the highest figure in the table (95 percent for staff helpfulness) represents the majority of participants being 'very satisfied with library in which major are helpfulness of staff service'. Furthermore, key details such as the exact satisfaction percentages for opening hours and wi-fi are omitted. The overview is weak, merely stating that the charts show results and satisfaction percentages without clearly highlighting the most salient overall trends, such as the dominance of undergraduate users and the generally high level of satisfaction across most categories.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement and attempts to organise information logically, beginning with an introduction, moving to the pie chart, and concluding with the table. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty and mechanical. The student uses basic transitional markers like 'Firstly', 'Following this', 'Morever', and 'Finally' to sequence the points, but these devices are occasionally used inaccurately or repetitively. Paragraphing is present and separates the visual elements into distinct sections, but referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where pronoun use and sentence linkage become tangled, making it difficult to follow the logical progression of ideas from sentence to sentence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. The student relies on basic, repetitive terms and attempts less common vocabulary with noticeable inaccuracy in word choice, collocation, and word form. Examples of lexical errors include 'undergraduated' instead of undergraduates, 'Distanace learners' instead of distance learners, 'Acadamic' instead of academic, and awkward phrasing such as 'covering the 25% volume' and 'not happy due to unavailability'. There are also several spelling and typographical errors, such as 'demonstrates the result in results' and 'Morever', which occasionally impede communication and restrict the lexical score to this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside poorly controlled attempts at complex clauses. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, articles, agreements, and prepositions. Examples include 'The pie chart and table demonstrates' (subject-verb agreement error), 'major portion library users are' (missing preposition and article), 'which in 44%' (incorrect prepositional structure), 'the table showing three results columns' (fragment/missing finite verb), and 'the not satisfied user numbers which not happy' (faulty relative clause and missing auxiliary verb). These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted grammatical range.
