Categories of library users

Categories of library users

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The chart shows the survey of library users at a university where different categories were discussed. These categories include academic staff, full time and part time post-graduates, full-time undergraduates and distance learners for all courses as well as for academic staff. Furthermore, the table below the chart also shows about the satisfaction of users that how much they staisfied, fairly satisfied and not satisfied about the opening hours, helpfullness of staff, avaibility of books and journals and reliability of wifi.

The chart shows that full time graduates has a deep connection with libraries as most of the undergraduates which are studing full-time used library mostly far more then the academic staff, as the academic staff is the most impotant pillar of any university and the staff needs to connect with the libraries because libraries creates a bridge between knowledge, wisdom and education. Beside that there are journals, helping books and wifi which helps the staff to gather more knowledge about the latest amendment in the relevent feilds such like a law professor will increase its knowledge about the latest amendment in law which was published in the journals and with the help of staff which is very helpfull and almost every one is considered that the staff of the library is very helpfull and no is there is university who is not satisified with the helpfullness of the staff. However it shows that the academic staff is not so connected with the libraries. Furthermore, the full-time postgraduated are also has deep roots in the library as one-fourth of the total numbers of full time post graduates are library users as there are helpfull material available in the library which include books availibilty and almost half of the library users are very staisified with the availibitly books and mostly are just fairly satisified because of different reasons as the universities mostly focus on the major subjects like medical, engineering and law related books so its might be possible that some subjects was not avaibale in the library. As compared to the full-time postgraduates, the part-time postgraduates are almost just more then the half of the numbers compared to the full-time postgraduates. The second most minimum users of library are distance learning in different courses or programs and it might be possible that they very busy in their businesses or jobs that is why they choose their programs in distance learning and had not enough time to spend in libraries.

The second portion of the chart also indicates the satisfaction of library users as many of the users are overall satisfied with the opening hours and helpfullness of staff however, there is no one who is not satisfied with these. Furthermore, the avalibilty of books, journas and reliability if wifi is commonly very satisified as well as fairly satisified and besides that some of the library users are not satisifies with these services but these users are very rare as compare to the other both users.

At the last, the libraries are very important pillar of any society for a developed nations and for those nations who want to become a developed nations as USA and UK focus more on libraries as compared to gym or spa centers. In the chart and table we have seen that no category is nearby to half of the total strength from its single category and no category is completely satisified with any single services provided by university.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While the student attempts to summarise the visual data, the interpretation is limited and features numerous irrelevant personal speculations and generalisations, such as discussing why distance learners are busy with jobs or how law professors use journals. The key features of the charts—such as full-time undergraduates comprising the largest group at 44% and staff satisfaction reaching 95% for helpfulness—are mentioned, but they are mixed with unsupported commentary that distracts from the core data reporting. To move to a higher level, the writer must focus strictly on reporting and comparing the factual data presented in the charts without introducing outside assumptions or irrelevant personal opinions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation evident with paragraph breaks, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Ideas tend to ramble within long, dense paragraphs rather than following a logical sequence. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inadequately, with repetitive transitional phrases like "furthermore" and "beside that" appearing frequently. Reference words are sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the relationships between ideas. For instance, sentences are overly long and run-on, causing the argument to lose focus. To improve, the student should structure the essay with a clear introduction, distinct body paragraphs focused on specific data features, and use a wider and more accurate range of cohesive links to guide the reader smoothly through the response.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common words, but frequent lexical errors and inappropriate word choices cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of awkward phrasing and word form errors include "helpfullness" (helpfulness), "avaibility" (availability), "journas" (journals), and "staisfied" (satisfied). There are also collocation and word choice inaccuracies, such as "deep roots in the library" or "total strength from its single category". Spelling mistakes occur across several key terms related to the prompt. To achieve a higher band, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary, ensure accurate word formation and spelling, and use precise terminology directly related to data reporting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions, such as "the full-time postgraduated are also has deep roots", "studing" (studying), and "some subjects was not avaibale". Run-on sentences and punctuation errors are common, which occasionally impedes communication and forces the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning. To reach the next level, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of error-free complex sentence forms, pay closer attention to basic grammatical agreements, and improve punctuation control to ensure clearer sentence boundaries.
