Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially. While you manage to present some of the key data from both the pie chart and the table, your coverage of the visual information lacks balance and key features. For instance, you mention the percentages for all user categories and satisfaction rates, but you omit a clear, overall summary or overview of the main trends. Additionally, some of your reporting of the survey results is imprecise or lacks comparison. To move to a higher band, you need to ensure all parts of the prompt are fully covered with a clear overview highlighting the most striking features, such as identifying which satisfaction category scored highest overall or contrasting the highest and lowest user groups more effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your writing shows a coherent overall arrangement and the information is generally grouped logically, with paragraphs separating the demographic data from the satisfaction statistics. You make use of basic cohesive devices such as 'where as' and 'in which' to connect your ideas. However, referencing and progression are sometimes mechanical, and paragraphing could be used more purposefully to separate distinct trends. To improve further, you should aim for a clearer logical progression between sentences and use a wider variety of cohesive markers naturally, rather than relying on repetitive connectors, ensuring that transitions between different sections of the data feel smoother and more seamless.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully attempting less common items related to statistics and survey results, such as 'undergraduates', 'postgraduates', and 'satisfaction'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('llibrary', 'followd', 'stasfied', 'fairy', 'dis-satisfied', 'Realibity') and occasional word-form inaccuracies that detract from the overall quality. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict your score. To reach a higher level, you need to expand your vocabulary range with greater precision and eliminate basic spelling and word-choice mistakes by carefully proofreading your work before submission.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and comparative structures to report the data. However, your grammar control is inconsistent, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the outcome of a university survey for library users' instead of 'of library users', and punctuation slips. Attempts at complex structures often contain minor faults, such as 'where as the distance learners at the lowest'. To achieve a higher band, you must increase the proportion of error-free sentences and pay closer attention to prepositions, articles, and verb forms when describing data.
