Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by successfully summarizing the main features of the pie chart and the table, and providing relevant comparisons. You clearly identified the largest and smallest user groups, such as full-time undergraduates accounting for 44% and academic staff making up 7%, and accurately highlighted key satisfaction ratings like the high helpfulness of staff at 95% very satisfied. There is a clear overview provided in the second paragraph that outlines the main trends. However, some of your ideas and data reporting tend to be slightly over-generalized or repetitively structured, which prevents the response from reaching a higher level of development. To improve further, you should ensure that all comparisons are integrated more smoothly without listing every single data point mechanically, allowing your main points to stand out more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your essay has a coherent overall arrangement with a logical division into paragraphs, including an introduction, an overview, and separate body paragraphs for the chart and the table. You use cohesive devices such as 'Meanwhile', 'Next to talk about', and 'Lastly' to guide the reader through the data. However, the cohesion feels somewhat mechanical and repetitive, particularly with transitional phrases like 'Followed by' starting multiple sentences and paragraphs. Referencing is also occasionally unclear or imprecise, such as when introducing new sections of data abruptly. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider variety of cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure that the logical progression between sentences and paragraphs is smoother and less formulaic.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms such as 'proportion', 'categories', 'satisfaction levels', and 'percentage'. You make several attempts to use less common vocabulary, but these are often accompanied by noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form, such as writing 'helpfulness staff' instead of 'staff helpfulness', 'secondary higghest' instead of 'second highest', and 'distane learning'. Additionally, there are some awkward expressions like 'workers works here' when referring to students. Your spelling and word-choice errors generally do not impede communication, but they restrict the precision of your writing. To improve your lexical score, you need to focus on accurate word forms, natural collocations, and precise vocabulary related to data trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as relative clauses and comparative statements. However, your grammar and punctuation contain frequent errors, particularly with prepositions, articles, subject-verb agreement, and redundant verb usage. Examples include 'The pie chart illustrates about', 'the full-time undergraduates is the higghest category', 'there are 25 percentage of workers', and 'there are no number users who not satisfied'. These errors occur regularly throughout the text and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To reach a higher band, you must increase your control over basic grammatical patterns, eliminate redundant phrasing like 'illustrates about', and ensure greater accuracy in verb forms and sentence construction.
