Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main features of the visual data, reporting the categories of library users and satisfaction levels. However, some parts are underdeveloped or unclear, particularly in the reporting of the table data where figures are sometimes misreported, such as stating 'the 10 people that weren't satisfing' instead of 10 percent for the availability of books. While an overview is attempted in the introduction, the selection and reporting of data lack complete precision and some key comparisons are missed. This places the response in the mid-range for this criterion, as it covers the task partially with limited development of ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the essay into an introduction and body paragraphs. Basic cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'furthermore', and 'Additionally', although they are occasionally repetitive or mechanically applied. Paragraphing is present, but the logical progression between sentences and ideas is sometimes disrupted by awkward phrasing and referencing that is not always entirely clear. Overall, the organization is sufficient to make the general flow understandable, achieving a standard where the text is logically structured despite some faults in cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but the range is limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic terms. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word formations, such as 'helpuless', 'satisfing', and referring to percentages as 'percentage'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with inaccuracy, and word choice issues occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader, reflecting a basic control of vocabulary appropriate for this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'five category', 'the other three categories which is'), missing articles, and awkward prepositional or clausal patterns. These errors require some effort from the reader to interpret the exact meaning, though communication is not completely obscured.
