Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response makes a minimal attempt to address the task by referencing some data from the pie chart, such as the highest percentage for full-time undergraduates at 44 percent and the lowest for academic staff at 7 percent. However, the second part of the visual data regarding library user satisfaction percentages across various categories like opening hours and staff helpfulness is completely ignored. Furthermore, the selection of features is poorly executed, and the inclusion of irrelevant personal speculation about students learning more because they read books detracts from the reporting of the visual data. The overall format and content remain restricted, preventing a complete overview of the provided materials.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

Information and ideas are not arranged coherently throughout the text. The response lacks a clear logical progression, jumping abruptly between data points and repetitive statements without a structured overview or standard essay framework. Paragraphing is poorly handled, resulting in a single block or disjointed groupings of sentences that do not flow logically. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, with repetitive phrasing such as 'it is clearly visible in the pie chart' appearing multiple times, which fails to guide the reader smoothly through the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Vocabulary usage is basic and repetitive, utilizing a limited range of words and phrases to describe the chart. There are noticeable word choice and word form errors throughout the text, such as 'informtion', 'extream use', 'undergradute', and 'libaray', which stem from frequent spelling mistakes. The student attempts basic descriptive phrases, but inaccurate lexical choices and awkward collocations, such as 'use medium library' and 'travel from the long distance', strain the reader and limit precision in reporting statistical information.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences with frequent structural errors. There are persistent issues with verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and missing articles, as seen in expressions like 'The given pie chart give informtion', 'the most of the full time undergradute people use', and 'whose people travel'. Punctuation is largely neglected, with run-on sentences lacking proper terminal punctuation or conjunctions, causing frequent difficulties for the reader in grasping the intended meaning.
