Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify both visuals and report some relevant figures, including the largest user group (full-time undergraduates, 44%) and the shares for postgraduate groups. However, the response only partially summarises the data: it gives no clear overview of the main patterns and omits several important satisfaction results. For example, staff helpfulness had the highest very-satisfied figure at 95%, while opening hours received 65%; these are not reported. The claim that users were very satisfied with both opening hours and staff helpfulness is broadly relevant, but the table’s figures and contrasts are not explained. The response also falls 11 words short of the required minimum. Add a concise overview and select key comparisons across both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure, moving from the pie chart to the table, and phrases such as “In the chart” and “In the table” help signal the topic. However, progression within the paragraphs is weak: the chart details are presented as separate observations without a clear overview or a consistent comparison, and the table discussion ends before the satisfaction data are properly organised. Some linking is awkward or unclear, as in “while on the other hand” and “On the other hand,” which are used close together without a clear contrast. Group the user categories from largest to smallest, then compare satisfaction results by highlighting the strongest and weakest ratings. This would make the information easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportions,” “categories,” “satisfaction,” and “availability,” so the reader can generally identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to interpret. For instance, “far by 44 percent” does not express that undergraduates formed the largest group, and “a great in size” is not a natural description of a percentage. “Spend alot of time there” introduces an unsupported idea about time spent in the library. Spelling errors such as “simialr” and “availablity” also reduce accuracy. Use precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “represented,” and “the highest proportion,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “while,” but control is inconsistent and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “In the chart, number of different categories students who visited and spend alot of time there” is not a complete, well-formed sentence. In “the full-time postgraduate simialr and rose 25 percent,” the sentence lacks a clear verb structure, while “there was a huge number of people who was not really satisfied” has an agreement error. Articles and possessives are also unreliable, as in “library's features” and “the user's satisfaction.” Build complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and tense before adding linking clauses.
