Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main user group and highlight the strongest satisfaction results, giving the response a relevant overview. The figures for full-time undergraduates (44%), full-time postgraduates (25%), part-time postgraduates (16%) and distance learners (8%) are mostly reported accurately, and you correctly note the 95% very-satisfied result for staff helpfulness and the absence of dissatisfied users for two categories. However, academic staff are 7%, not 8%, and the combined 69% refers to full-time undergraduates and full-time postgraduates, not all full-time students as phrased. Coverage of the table is limited: books, journals and wi-fi are omitted, so the comparison of satisfaction across all aspects is underdeveloped. Include the main contrasts across these remaining categories to make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on user categories and a final paragraph on satisfaction. This makes the main direction easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Overall” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships. The progression is not fully effective, however, because the final paragraph reports only opening hours and staff helpfulness, leaving the other table categories unintegrated. Some connections are also awkward: “Making these sections the only sections…” is a sentence fragment, and “And most of the users…” begins the overview with a somewhat mechanical link. To strengthen progression, group the satisfaction results by high and comparatively lower ratings, and use complete sentences with clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “categories,” “comprising,” “account for” and “user satisfaction,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise wording, such as “users,” “satisfied” and “sections,” and several spelling errors: “demostrates,” “ctaegories,” “statisfaction” and “percebtage.” Some collocations are unnatural, including “majority number of users” and “utmost satisfied.” Choose precise chart language and check spelling carefully; for example, describe a group as “accounting for” a share and say respondents were “very satisfied.” This would make the report more natural and reduce moments where the reader has to interpret the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including the opening sentence with “respectively” and the comparison beginning “whereas.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. “The chart and table demonstrates” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “the majority number of users are” and “full time students comprising…” show problems with sentence construction. “Making these sections the only sections…” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. There are also inconsistent article and plural patterns, as in “95 percent users.” Aim to build complete sentences around each comparison, check agreement between subjects and verbs, and use articles consistently. More accurate control of these patterns would make the information easier to read.
